15 For Me
Reducing Stress for Employees and Patients
OVERVIEW CONTENT: People who begin the 15 for Me will receive an action plan with all necessary materials. Any individual can participate in the program. We recommend that you consider implementing at a structured consistent time.
Mood-5 (M5)
The M5 is an effective screening tool for identifying signs of stress that may interfere with everyday functioning. Just as a thermometer measures body temperature, the M5 can take your “stress temperature.”
Exercise Sessions
This program encourages participants to actively engage in physical (cardio), cognitive (working memory), and breathing/ medication activities. The two primary modalities are cardio and cognitive. The participant finishes the brief cardio or cognitive session with a diaphragmatic breathing/meditation exercise. In other words, sessions are comprised of either cardio + breathing/meditation or cognitive + breathing/meditation.
Breathing and Meditation
Breathing and meditation techniques are used to lower blood pressure, boost mood, and promote relaxation. Focusing on diaphragmatic breathing and guided imagery to achieve a calm and stable state for 2-3 minutes each day can help to reduce stress levels. These relaxation exercises should be completed at the end of each session.
